Despite the wet weather, Buxton locals made a big splash about celebrating the Diamond Jubilee celebration over the weekend, thanks to water donated by Buxton Mineral Water; proud supporters of the Big Jubilee Lunch and part of the programme of events to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The special occasion was the perfect excuse for the local community to share lunch and conversation at street parties throughout the town.
Andrea Lewis, one of many Buxton residents that held a street party in South Avenue, Buxton, said: “The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was such a proud moment in our history that it was only fitting to celebrate this momentous occasion with our neighbours and local community.
“We had a large number of people at our Big Jubilee Lunch and had a wonderful time chatting and laughing together. It was a fantastic day all round.”
